Jake,

some good work completed here and it is clear that your pre-production work has been adhered to for the filming and editing process.  There were some changes made during the process but these were documented albeit in a basic form.

There are some elements of your pre-production paperwork which are missing and this needs to be addressed and it is clear that come elements could have been much more thorough.

Your 'pre-production process' write shows an in-depth knowledge of the Media industry and the importance of pre-production planning in a moving image text. You have explained in some detail the requirements for a media production.

Initial Ideas

Initial Ideas:
The intention for the short film that we created was to get across a serious message in a way that was not boring and monotone. The reason we chose this setting was because it is a scene that a typical drug addict would hang out in so that he doesn't have the fear of being caught by the police. We only wanted to use one spot because normally a drug taker would not venture out of the safety of his own home. Our inspiration for this idea came from the other DepicT! candidate 'How To Tell If A Relationship Is Over' by Tony Roche.

Another one of our initial ideas was to make sure that the shot looked like it was dirty and full of junk, so when we filmed it we included a lot of cups, bottles and plates on the table where the drug user was sitting t make it look like he was dirty and disorganised.

We decided to use this location only because it was a safe option for people who takes drugs as they are in the safety of their own home so a home would be their prime location for doing drugs as they have a low chance of getting caught by the police. Therefore we only had one location in use which was our actors house. The reason we chose his house is that he felt more comfortable acting in his own house and that he had to go to work later on in the day so it was more convenient.
