Induction Task - Line of Sight Evaluation

Induction task analysis

Mise-en scene
The mise-en scene for induction task was crime, this is clearly portrayed by the use of the use of a gun, a mystery package and the use of clothes to make one of the characters look shady and that he is up to no good.

Lighting

The lighting in our film is all natural lighting that was from the sun and the shade of objects in the park, so therefore depending on where we shot the scene the lighting could be really light or very dark if we were shooting under trees in the park. We could have improved this film by using unnatural lighting when filming under trees so that facial expressions and detail that was happening while we were filming.

High or low camera angles

We used a low camera angle shot to be able show that Max was picking up the package that was laying on the floor, the angle was this low to show that the package was on the floor next to my dead body and that it had been dropped.

Different shot distances
In our video we had many different types of shots, covering a lot of the distances, including, long shots, medium shots, close-ups, wide shots and point of view shots. To improve we could have included multiple of each type of shot and included over-the-shoulder shots, extreme long shots and extreme close-ups.

Fades or dissolves
We had one fade in the middle of our video when the gun has been shot and it fades onto the dead body on the ground and we also had a dissolve at the very end when the package is picked up then it dissolves onto the screen that says 'The End'.
The continuity system:

·         180 degree rule- we never broke the 180 degree rule because we only used one camera so there could never be any other camera in the shot. Although we only had one camera we made sure not to have our bags, clothes or tripod in the shot.
·         Establishing shots

·         Match cuts on action

·         Eyeline match shots

·         POV shots- we included a POV shot when Max was using the gun and aiming at me while I was running away with the package.
